• A talk group for patients’ relatives. If a relative falls ill, real changes have to be made in daily life: demands of treatment, reduced availability, family tensions, rushing around etc. All these can be reasons for feeling ill at ease. Professionally supported volunteers provide a monthly talk group session, offering support and accompaniment to relatives. These meetings do not offer instant or complete solutions, neither do they provide judgements or air pre-conceived ideas. Rather, those who go to them can go back over what has happened, recover confidence in themselves and others, and use their personal resources while getting support from those going through the same thing.
