The biopsy

This is a technique that allows small pieces of tissue to be taken from an organ. A biopsy can be carried out during a surgical operation, or directly via the skin or a mucous membrane. In this case, the doctor will use a needle that he points to the location of the problem inside the body, sometimes using a radiology device (X-ray machine, ultrasound etc).
The small piece of tissue will be studied under the microscope to obtain precise information on its structure and therefore to arrive at an accurate diagnosis.
